ABOUT ABOUT

The 10th Annual Orchard Lake Fine Art Show®, happens on July 27-29, 2012, located outdoors in the heart of beautiful West Bloomfield.   This is not “just another art show” – it is a high quality, juried fine art and craft event with world-renowned and top-notch Michigan artists who are selling their art in all forms of discipline including paintings, clay, glass, sculpture, fiber, wood, jewelry, photography and more.   We travel year-round across the nation and Canada to recruit only the best for this show.   The Orchard Lake Fine Art Show® has been voted in the top 100 art shows in the country the last five years in a row (by Sunshine Artist Magazine), is considered 1 of the top 5 top events in Oakland County, and in 2011, won four awards from Michigan Festivals and Events!   The art show is held in the heart of West Bloomfield, and offers high visibility off of Orchard Lake Road, just south of Maple Road, on Powers and Daly Roads.  The event site is set up to provide access for local businesses in the area and plenty of free parking to patrons!   Event hours are Friday, July 27, from 5p-9p; Saturday, July 28, from 10a-9p; and Sunday, July 29, from 10a-5p.  The event brings much economic impact into West Bloomfield and the surrounding communities.

Art is an intrinsic part of life; art has value and enriches health and well-being.  One of the most important things that past civilization has gifted to our current & future civilizations is art.  Everything a person does is an artistic decision.  From picking out what you are going to wear for the day, to what you are going to do for a living is a form of art.  The more we enhance and enrich art and make it aware to the public, the more important each individual person becomes in sustaining our culture.  Art is important to the health of individuals, especially one’s mind, and one’s lifestyle.  The focus of the Orchard Lake Fine Art Show® is about the visual arts and community enrichment.  You will not see buy/sell, or manufactured, goods mixed within the artists at this event, which is creeping into many of the “juried” art shows nationwide.  You will see many a variety of top notch artists who all personally hand make their work, and you will also see artists who don’t participate in other Michigan shows who do participate in this event. The Institute for Arts & Education, Inc., is the 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to educate and promote fine arts and crafts among all artists and students, of all age groups and diversity, and the general public.  IA&E implements ways to enrich lives and strengthen our community through the power of arts.  In order for the community to learn how some of the art work is made, art demonstrations will be happening throughout the event. In addition, children’s art activities and the continued Youth Art Competition, sponsored by The Chadwick Accounting Group, for grades K-8 encourages young artists to create their original work to be publicly displayed with a chance to win a cash prize.  Youths are exposed to and begin to learn the rules of being part of a professional art show.  Wonderful music is played throughout the event.  Great food provided by local area restaurants offer a fine culinary choice.  You may refer to our website, www.HotWorks.org, for information regarding the event.
